Join artist Lakshmi Madhavan in-studio for a deep dive into her practice, and participate in a workshop that examines the intimate relationship between body and textile - dwelling between identity and belonging, memory and materiality. Lakshmi works with kasavu, the traditional textile of Kerala, which emerged as an umbilical cord for her, prompting her to not only examine her linkage to her roots but also investigate the socio-cultural history and politics woven into this fabric. In this collaborative workshop, she invites participants into an understanding of textiles as being embedded with histories and traditions - personal and collective - and structures of power, revealing who we were and who we are.
Please note - No refunds or deferments, but participants may transfer their tickets to friends if they cannot make it on the day.
