The Courtyard Baithak series is curated by tabla wizard and prodigy Trilochan Kampli, who with his uncompromising standards in music, evokes the best from every artist that he invites to perform. We are bringing musicians and audiences together on a sublime musical journey.

Artist Bio

Ustad Faiyaz Khan was born into a family of musicians belonging to the Kirana Gharana. He is an A.I.R “A” Grade Artist, and has many film and TV serial songs to his credit and has worked along with famous music directors, including Oscar award winner A R Rahman. He has composed music for numerous Kathak ballets. A rare combination of excellent performance in vocals and sarangi he is recognized as an extremely meticulous and inspiring teacher keeping alive the finer aspects of Kirana Gharana. The many State and National awards in his name also bear testimony to his musicianship.

Listeners will find great joy in the effortless grace and depth of his khayals, the intricate delicacy of his ghazals as well as the devout expanse in his bhajans.
