About the Artist - Sahana Banerjee
Meet Sahana Banerjee, a talented sitarist with a rich musical heritage! Recognized as a child prodigy, Sahana hails from the esteemed Rampur Senia Gharana, a lineage that traces back to the legendary Mian Tansen. Her journey began at just four years old, playing the sitar under the guidance of her father, Pandit Santhosh Banerjee, a renowned maestro himself.
Sahana's music blends traditional Indian classical styles with her own unique flair, creating a captivating sound that's both soulful and dynamic. She’s passionate about sharing her knowledge, conducting both online and in-person classes for students around the world, including from India, Germany, France, and beyond.
Not just a performer, Sahana also actively engages in workshops and lecture-demonstrations, helping her students develop their skills and connect with the music on a deeper level. She's performed at various music festivals and even collaborated with international artists, bringing Indian classical music to new audiences.
