Tulpa – Uttan Art Festival

" Tulpa ” in the Bombay East Indian dialect means “ to crave for.” It’s an unusual name for an art festival, but it arises from a deep, collective yearning - shared by Mogan Rodrigues, Wigbert Piedade, and Yash Sheth - to celebrate Uttan and the unique culture of its community through art. It is also to bring alive a thirst to discover the inherent creative spirit in each of us.Tulpa is a living gallery where the lines between artists, subjects and participants dissolve to create a fluid environment of exchange; where the landscape and its people immerse with artists and visitors to create rich memories, experiences, and emotions in photography, clay, murals, music, walks and more...

Come, be a part of the revelation!

Tales of Uttan: A Community Mural Jam

Danette Gomes a Mumbai-based illustrator, mural artist and live art creator who focuses on uses art as a form of story-telling. What began during the lockdown as a simple hobby—illustrating everyday tales—has evolved into a fulfilling career rooted in connection and creativity. Danette has collaborated with leading names like ICICI Bank, Netflix, Aditya Birla Initiative, Godrej, and Reliance Foundation, as well as numerous personal clients, helping each of them bring their unique stories to life. In all her forms of art, from murals to journal spreads, postcard paintings to digital posters, she aims at telling a little bit of a story in the hope that it connects with someone else as well.

Join us for a vibrant mural workshop led by illustrator and muralist Danette Gomes, where art meets community!

Set in the scenic coastal community of Uttan, this hands-on workshop invites volunteers to pick up a brush and help bring a large-scale mural to life. Under Danette's guidance, you'll co-create a colorful piece inspired by the people, their stories, and the spirit of the Uttan community. Whether you're an artist or just someone who loves to paint, this is your chance to connect, create, and leave behind something meaningful. Come for the sea breeze, stay for the stories—and help turn a wall into a shared celebration of culture and color.
