During the winter months in Lucknow, there is an abundance of produce in the markets, including greens, fruits, and root vegetables that people eagerly anticipate all year round. From familiar favorites like tender peas to exotic finds like black carrots, each ingredient is treated with care and enthusiasm in home kitchens, showcasing the culinary diversity and richness of the region.
People gather around bonfires, and the spirit of communal dining keeps the harsh cold at bay.
As much as I love winter, my work has kept me away from home during this time for many years. However, my longing to visit local markets and cook with my favorite ingredients inspires me to bring a taste of Lucknawi winter to Bangalore.
