About the Artist

Abhishek Borkar, a young and versatile sarod maestro, was born into a lineage of musicians and trained under his father, Pt. Shekhar Borkar, in the Maihar Senia Gharana. With a deep-rooted understanding of Hindustani classical music, Abhishek’s style seamlessly blends the essence of sarod, sitar, sarangi, and vocal traditions.

Having performed at prestigious festivals like Sawai Gandharva, Kala Ghoda, and Darbar Festival, Abhishek’s music carries the influence of legends like Ustad Allauddin Khan, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, and Pt. Nikhil Banerjee.

Set in the heart of Bangalore, Courtyard’s open-air space will enhance the immersive experience of his music—allowing the depth of the sarod’s resonance to flow under the night sky, creating an intimate and transportive evening for all.
