Mumbai's Fort area has a lot of beautiful trees gracing its avenues. Most of the trees have interesting stories to tell. For instance, at Kala Ghoda, there is a Mahogany tree that was planted by the famed David Livingstone in 1865 before he made his way to Africa.
This 2 -hour walk covers about 30 plants and trees in the Fort area. It will start at Kala Ghoda and end near Flora Fountain.
We will be describing the trees, their unique characteristics and features and their unique uses for mankind. Some of the other trees we will be learning -- are the Mahua tree, Star Fruit tree, Rain tree, Samanea, Kala Umber, Amherstia, Fish Tail Palm, Bhendi trees etc.
