Although Onam is Kerala’s harvest festival, its uniqueness lies beyond the boundaries of religion. It is a celebration of Malayali community, joy and most of all, delicious food.

The Great Bombay Sadhya

An exclusive, one-day-only Onam celebration with a rare vegetarian and non-vegeterian sadhya spread by Kari Apla, set at the warm and beautiful Pioneer Hall, Bandra. 

Kari Apla

Led by Chefs Ebaani Tewari (Maharashtrian from Mumbai with roots in Karwar) and Mathew Varghese (Syrian Christian from Kerala), Kari Apla nails the elaborate flavours of the two regions through their curated menu.

Like its name, which is a riff on language and words, the food at Kari Apla beautifully brings together cuisines, cultures & communities through its menu. 

Sadhya

The grand Onasadhya is a traditional feast served on a banana leaf that celebrates seasonal produce, featuring dishes influenced by centuries of culture & history.

While the standard Onasadhya is a vegetarian meal in the context of households, particularly in the Malabar and central parts of the state, the details of a sadhya can include non-vegetarian dishes intermixed with vegetarian ones.

Vegetarian: Boiled Red Rice, Moringa Podi, Mango Mustard Pickle, Appalam, Elaichi Banana, Banana Chips, Sarkara Varatti, Buttermilk, Beetroot Pachadi, Sambar, Inji Puli, Avial,Cabbage Thoran, Pumpkin Erissery, Jackfruit Cutlet, Mushroom Pepper Roast, Parippu Payasam

The Travancore Lounge

An intimate, upstairs retreat inspired by the elegance of Kerala’s royal heritage. Experience drinks inspired by South Indian flavours and music curation by Bombay-based record store, The Revolver Club to set the tone for the afternoon. It’s a space to linger before or after the feast, to savour a drink and experience the warmth of Onam in a setting that feels both timeless and contemporary.
