This month’s Courtyard Baithak brings an extraordinary evening of Sufi music with the renowned folk singer, Mukhtiyar Ali. Hailing from the desert lands of Bikaner, Rajasthan, Mukhtiyar Ali comes from the Mirasis, a semi-nomadic community known for preserving the rich oral tradition of Sufiana Qalam. His unique style blends the rustic charm of Rajasthani folk with the finesse of classical music, allowing him to bring the soulful poetry of Kabir, Mira, and Sufi poets like Bulleh Shah to life.

Mukhtiyar Ali has captivated audiences across the globe, performing in countries such as Belgium, Sweden, and Germany, while also lending his voice to films like Tashan and Delhi in a Day. Now, he graces our Courtyard for an unforgettable night of music and reflection.
