Join us as we head on to explore the heart of Shahjahanabad, the Red Fort.
After commissioning the construction of his masterpiece, the Taj Mahal, Emperor Shah Jahan decided to shift his capital to Delhi and hence, built the Red Fort in the heart of the 7th city of Delhi.
The Red Fort has been through a journey of approximately 2 centuries of Mughal rule, a century of British Raj and various political developments in the 72 years of Independent India. The rich history and heritage housed within this fort complex are forebearers of our journey since over 350 years.
Once the capital of power and royalty during the Mughal era, the Red Fort was badly demolished by the British after 1857 and used as their headquarters and prisons. Since India gained Independence, the Red Fort has been reinstated as the apparent symbol of power from where the Prime Minister addresses the nation on every Independence Day.
We will traverse through the journey of the Red Fort, exploring its majestic structures and palaces, and time travel through all the major historical events it has witnessed.
