Auroville Botanical Gardens

A stunning conservation effort undertaken in 2000 to protect the disappearing Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest of the Coromandel Coast, the gardens have been painstakingly developed by volunteers over the years. The result is a verdant, thriving green soace with more than 310 tree species, a nursery, a vegetable seed conservation garden and even a small cafe serving local food.
