Bento Bento is back with a new celebration of food and fandom — this time diving into the vibrant and flavourful world of anime.Inspired by iconic scenes and comfort meals from some of Japan’s most beloved anime series, this curated pop-up brings to life dishes that fans have seen on screen and long wondered about. With past tributes to Studio Ghibli and Midnight Diner, Bento Bento now takes a fresh turn towards the fast-paced, heartfelt, and imaginative food culture of anime.
Chef Anumitra, whose culinary roots are shaped in part by her time in Japan, brings a deep respect for authenticity while channeling the visual flair and nostalgia that these shows evoke. Whether you’re a long-time anime fan or a curious food lover, Bento Bento invites you to taste the flavours of your favourite shows.

THE MENU
Sweets & Snacks
Dorayaki – Doraemon Soft, fluffy pancakes filled with sweet red bean paste. This is Doraemon’s favorite snack — a simple, sweet treat with a hint of nostalgia.
Dango – Naruto Chewy rice dumplings on skewers, glazed with sweet soy sauce. Often eaten during festivals, dango is a symbol of joy and camaraderie.
Savoury Dishes
Onigiri (Single) – Demon Slayer Triangular rice balls wrapped in seaweed and filled with surprises like tangy pickled plum or seasoned vegetables — a staple in bento boxes and beloved by anime heroes on the go.
Gyoza – Food Wars Pan-seared Japanese dumplings with a juicy, seasoned filling. These dumplings are ubiquitous in Food Wars' competitions, and here they’re served crisp with a dipping sauce.
Nikuman – Haikyuu!! Fluffy steamed buns filled with savoury pork. This hearty snack is a popular reward after volleyball practice scenes in Haikyuu!!, and perfect for a quick burst of energy.
Meals
Ramen – Naruto A steaming bowl of noodles in rich broth, topped with marinated egg, pork, and greens. This dish is practically a co-star in Naruto, where Ichiraku Ramen is a frequent backdrop.
Katsudon – Yuri on Ice, My Hero Academia A comforting bowl of rice topped with crispy pork cutlet, soft scrambled egg, and sweet-salty sauce. Katsudon is often portrayed as a dish of encouragement and reward in anime.
Chicken Karaage Bento Juicy, marinated fried chicken served with rice and pickles — this Japanese-style fried chicken bento is crunchy, satisfying, and a lunchbox favorite.
Brinjal with Ponzu Bento A vegetarian bento featuring grilled or roasted brinjal dressed in a tangy ponzu sauce. Balanced, light, and packed with umami.
