Native Horizons: A Walk Through Upstream Ecology Led by Restoration Ecologist Vasanth Bosco
Step into a hidden sanctuary of Nilgiris biodiversity at the Upstream Ecology Nursery in Ooty. Marvel at the golden kurinji shrub, flowering just once in nine years, and the plateau’s largest golden tree fern—both rare, sky island endemics now facing the threat of extinction.
Explore over 100 rare and endangered native plant species of the Nilgiris Biosphere Reserve grown and nurtured as part of critical conservation efforts.
Learn why these plants are essential for restoring the Nilgiris’ ecological balance and how you can contribute to this vital mission.
