Atul Tiwari is an accomplished Indian film writer, actor, and theatre director. A graduate of the National School of Drama, he first gained recognition for his work in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Mission Kashmir (2000). His notable writing credits include Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero (2005), which received the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration, as well as Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam I and II.
As an actor, he has appeared in acclaimed films such as 3 Idiots (2009), Aakrosh (2010), Mulk (2018), and The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2015). Beyond cinema, Tiwari is deeply involved in theatre as a director and playwright, and has also contributed to museum-making and other creative pursuits — reflecting his multifaceted engagement with the arts.
