In Greek, the word pharmacy finds its roots in healing, harm, and magic. In Egyptian, it translates to the bestower of safety. Have you ever wondered—amid the trials of life—what a living Poetry Pharmacy might look like? A place where secret creative potions are prepared and prescribed in verse and in poetry.

Might it have the courage to experiment, to blend forms and mediums, in search of remedies for the despair and desolation of life—and spells for its tender dreams?

Dillipoetry in collaboration with Fictionary, invites you to a two-hour long poetry writing workshop. The session offers to weave together poetry themed around restoration, revival, and healing—used as prompts and meditative tools to deepen one’s connection with oneself and the world.

Writing poetry cannot be taught nor learned, but conditions can be created where both can be disregarded and a poem can still appear to dent a blank page... The Poetry Pharmacy is a space to facilitate such conditions. The workshop will encompass self-probing, curated recitations, active participation, creative writing exercises, and facilitated reflection—through some prescribed poetry written across a wide timeline by some wise voices like - Rainer Maria Rilke, Mary Oliver, Tracy K Smith, Naomi Shihab Nye, among others.

Note: Designed for absolute beginners & seasoned artists both.
