A luxury heritage hotel whose name translates to the “house of jewels” because it was built in the 1930s as a treasury for the Sikkimese royal family. The Kanchen garden on the property was the deposed king’s favourite spot. The hotel is designed in Tibetan style and the chef once served the late king of Sikkim in the Royal Palace Kitchen.
