About the event:

SoulTrane is a new Bangalore band that plays original music putting a soul/funk twist on a contemporary jazz sound to create feel-good joyful original music that you can groove to.

The band features Sylvester Pradeep on vocals and guitar, Haripriya Narasimhan on electric bass and Ashwin Shekhar on drumset.

About the artist:

Sylvester Pradeep is a musician, visual artist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer with over 150 original songs to his credit. Beginning in theatre, he went on to earn international recognition as a music director and composer for films, short films, and ad jingles, receiving multiple awards and nominations, including Best Original Score at the Florence Film Awards. A dynamic performer known for his expressive guitar work and bold vocals, he is the founder of two bands – The Sylvester Trio and Slyfly and the Blues Company, and has collaborated with several leading artists across India. His music blends gaana, indie, folk rock, and blues into an energetic and engaging live experience.

Haripriya Narasimhan started her journey in music with voice and violin. Several years later she chanced upon the electric bass, and there was no looking back. With music being the one constant through her life, she has played with various groups like The Radha Thomas Ensemble, RiOT, Bangalore Broadway Company and Aman Mahajan Trio, pushing her bass playing boundaries and exploring the musical spectrum. Jazz fascinates her with its intellectual and emotional depth, coupled with its freedom of expression.

Ashwin Shekhar is a Bangalore-based drummer whose playing blends blues, R&B, soul, and contemporary jazz with a strong sense of groove and interaction. With over a decade of musical experience, he’s known for his deep pocket, dynamic sensitivity, and ability to shape feel across both intimate venues and festival stages. He has performed on stages such as International Jazz Day, International Blues Day, and Bangalore Blues Habba, and is active with projects including Splender’s Bride, Suvankar + Other Stories, and Sly Fly and the Blues Co. Alongside performing, he has been teaching drums since 2015, focusing on groove, listening, and musical awareness.
