What: Solidarity is a sense of unity. Simply put, it is showing up even if an issue doesn’t directly impact you. Solidarity Tuesday is about highlighting civic or social issues that need attention and could use our support.

Why: The Humming Tree has always had a commitment to community. Our work is to support independent artists and communities who are trying to create positive change in this world. As a venue, our intention is to give voice, platform, and resources to those who can make an impact in their communities.

How: Once a month, THT will host artists and social changemakers to share their journeys. All the proceeds from the food, beverage, and ticket sales will go to the community based organisation. Our commitment is to report back to our larger THT community so you know how the resources have been used.

When: One Tuesday a month

Who: This event is open to all. We encourage everyone to join us once a month to support organisations doing important work in our world.

About The Threshold: The Threshold is a musical dialogue between Pallavi and Bindhumalini exploring gender through stories and songs of remarkable women across time and continents — from Hypatia and Agnodice to Nina Simone and Meera. Through voice and a rich soundscape of instruments, they bring forth rare, unheard narratives with compassion and depth.

Pallavi MD is a singer, composer, actor and filmmaker trained in Hindustani classical music. A celebrated performer of Kannada poetry, she is a recipient of the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, META Best Actress Award, Karnataka State Awards, and the Vachanasri Award. Her work spans theatre, film, museum sound design, and international collaborations, including her LP *Song for Broken Ships* and the band Kayaka.

Bindhumalini Narayanaswamy is a National and Filmfare Award–winning singer and composer trained in both Carnatic and Hindustani music. Her work bridges classical and contemporary forms through albums, film scores, and collaborations such as *The Threshold*. She continues to explore music’s emotive power through diverse artistic partnerships and projects like *Singing Body*.

A portion of the ticketing and 100% of the f&b purchases from this event go towards supporting Sadhana Mahila Sangha
