An important historical landmark, best known for housing the cell in which Mahatma Gandhi was imprisoned, this fort is well worth a visit. Located between the twin hills of Sitabuildi, it was built in the 1700s. It has served as a war memorial and was built to commemorate soldiers who fought in the Anglo-Maratha war. Today, it functions as the office quarters of the Indian Territorial Army.
