✨ Ever wondered what it feels like to walk through moments of the Ramayan — not just read about it?
We wanted to bring the new away to help you experience the Epic that shapes much of India’s cultural imagination.
Before & Beyond History invites you to a first-of-its-kind themed storytelling walk through Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, where the trees, rocks, and flowers of Bengaluru’s favourite Garden become mediums to one of the world’s greatest epics.
Join your hosts, Anupriy and Rohina, as they guide you through this mythological walk that not only tells but also traces how stories and symbols from the Epic evolved across the Valmīki Sanskrit Ramayan (be it BORI Critical Edition or Gita Press), regional retellings like Tulsidas’ Ramcharitmanas, Kamba Ramavataram, Krittivasi Ramayan, and explores backstories in Puranic lore while considering medieval to modern retellings. We will conclude with a fun group activity that will help you understand how the narrative tradition evolves.
Whether you’ve joined our flagship walks (🔴 North, 🟢 West, 🔵 Main Gate) or themed walks like 🟠 Mahabharat Quest — OR this will be your first time at the Garden (or with the Epic) — there’s something both familiar and new for everyone in the 🟣 Ramayan Quest.
What is guaranteed is your relationship with the saga, and the space will change forever!
