About the workshop

Step into into the magical world of Malayalam folklore with Oridathoridath. This workshop brings the joy of storytelling to life, giving children and parents a fun way to explore Kerala’s rich cultural heritage.

Kids will enjoy listening to two captivating tales and taking part in activities inspired by the stories, sparking their creativity and love for our traditions. Parents will learn simple storytelling tips to connect with their children, create unforgettable memories, and spend quality screen-free time together. Join us to celebrate the beauty of stories passed down through generations and bring them to life in your own home!

Know your host

Kalyani Gopakumar Storyteller Kalyani is from Kochi, who developed a love for storytelling through the tales passed down by her grandmothers. While running her interior design firm ‘The Portrait’ in Kochi, she also shares traditional stories with children, fostering creativity and connection. Her digital platform Oridathoridath brings Malayalam stories and poetry to life, aiming to reduce screen time and revive the art of oral storytelling in families. Kalyani also plans to train parents and teachers in this timeless craft.
