Step into an evening where stories open doors that were once closed. On Friday, 28th November 2025, at 7 PM, Atta Galatta, Bengaluru will host the launch of Of A Closet & What It Hid, the debut queer autobiographical novel by Sauvik Acharjee. The event, hosted by journalist and queer activist Romal Laisram, will feature a book reading session, an intimate conversation with the author, a book launch by a guest of honour, followed by signing and coffee with the author.
Blending the personal and the poetic, Of A Closet & What It Hid traces a tender journey through love, longing, identity, and the courage to be seen. The novel captures what it means to step out of silence — to reclaim one’s truth and tell one’s story, unafraid.
Sauvik Acharjee is a Chemical Engineer turned Marketer, who followed his passion for words to make his mark in the literary world. A published poet and recipient of the 21st Century Emily Dickinson Award, Sauvik’s works have appeared in national and international anthologies and literary magazines, earning recognition for their introspective and lyrical storytelling. Originally from Bongaigaon, Assam, he now calls Bengaluru home. An editor of ANTARGATA: An Anthology of Poems by the Bangalore Poetry Circle, and a former queer activist and DEI champion, Sauvik writes with a rare blend of emotional honesty and grace about identity, mental health, and queer love.
Join us for an evening of words, warmth, and stories that refuse to stay hidden.
