Shahjahanabad, better known as Old Delhi/Purani Dilli in popular language, has been one of the most intriguing destinations of Delhi. While some people wonder how people survive in this congested locality, others are simply awed at the multi-faceted charm this place reeks of. A generous mix of heritage, culture, shopping and food, Old Delhi can never cease to surprise you. I grew up in this region of the city, belonging to a family who have been living in Shahjanabad since decades and this is a city for me in itself.
As a person who has grown up in these narrow lanes, there is never a dearth of experiences to share. So, this time, I thought of inviting you all to visit my birthplace and to show you Shahjahanabad from the perspective of an insider.
Let's get together to share stories, experiences, good food and ofcourse Instagrammable pictures. We will begin from across the grounds of Red Fort where the fate of this city was decided time and again and head on to explore the past, present and future of the populace of Shahjahanabad. From the most secular streets of India, to the old havelis of the city, we will see how life has continued to flourish here.
We will also be stopping for dinner after the walk ends, which is optional for the participants.
