Muqadamma unfolds through three witnesses —
one who never spoke,
one who chose silence,
and one who was silenced… until even the ruins began to speak.
Created and performed by Ruha Latif — a practicing civil litigation advocate, a woman’s rights activist and a speaker on gender discrimination and Shariah rights of Women, the author of “Rooh Dekhi Hai Kabhi (Part 1 & 2)”, Ballads from a Mother’s Heart & Conversations, and a performing artist who bridges courtroom and poetry.
Accompanied by live violin and mandolin by Utsav Biswas , he has trained in both Indian and western classical music. He loves to explore how emotions and music intertwine.
This gathering is more like witnessing a courtroom trial.
