Mumbai Maritime Walk - "A Microcosm of Global Maritime Histories”

Narratives of global shipping histories playing out on Ballard Estate, evolution of shipping facilities in Mumbai, and a viewing of some important buildings related to nautical or maritime themes will be covered.
The heritage experience will be delivered in a hybrid mode, a live walk starting from the Great Western Building opposite the Clocktower of the Naval Dockyard, meandering through Ballard Estate and concluding opposite CSMT / BMC, accompanied by related visual content delivered live on Google Meet on-the-go.
The resource person R Venkatesh, an MA in History from JNU, and a researcher on diverse themes while specializing in “urbs prima in Indis”, i.e. 19c Bombay, is a Life Member of The Asiatic Society of Mumbai as well as Intach, and is a member of Maritime Mumbai Museum Society.
