Mehrauli Archaeological Park

Located right next to the Qutub Minar, the park has 4 main sites starting from the 13th century onwards to the 19th century! Visit Balban’s Tomb to see the earliest extant true arch in India; the Jamali Kamali tomb and mosque, said to be a favoured spot of the Djinns; Rajon ki Baoli, one of the prettiest step wells in Delhi; and Quli Khan’s Tomb which was converted into residential quarters in the 19th century. The park is located in the catchment area for the higher surrounding ridge and many of the buildings were covered by silt over the centuries and have only recently been excavated!
