An extension of Mussoorie, Landour is the cantonment area of the hill station where not much has changed since it was formed, be it it’s aging colonial structures or old oak forests. An old-world timelessness is the hallmark of the strictly preserved area that is best explored on foot. Start up the cobblestoned path near author Ruskin Bond’s house and onwards to Char Dukan, a row of tiny eateries and shops popular with travellers, locals, and students of the Landour Language School further up. Go past the Kellog Memorial Church whose premises house this school, and continue on the winding road till you end up in Sister’s Bazaar named after the nuns who used to work in the British dormitories here, and finish with a coffee and dessert at Landour Bakehouse.
