About the Lecture
When did a kiss become romantic, scandalous, sacred—or political? And why has this small, intimate gesture obsessed poets, painters, lovers, and moralists for centuries?
Through art, literature, gossip, and stolen confessions from love letters, Kissa Kiss Ka traces the social life of the kiss, from divine longing to public scandal. This lecture unpacks how a simple meeting of lips became one of history’s most charged expressions of desire. No promises that you’ll leave a better kisser… but you will leave with stories charming enough to impress your next date ;)
Come curious. Leave charmed.

About the Speaker
Karan Tekwani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of Delhi. He holds a Master’s degree in English from St. Stephen’s College and a diploma in Aesthetics from Jnanapravaha, Mumbai.
Fascinated by images, he spends much of his time thinking about how visual culture shapes—and quietly permeates—everyday life. His long-standing habit of buying books for their covers led him to write his Master’s dissertation on book design and its critical potential. Beyond visual culture, food remains a constant preoccupation, one he engages with not only through reading, but also by cooking with words.
