Squirreled away in the sleepy, residential suburb of Kothrud, this joint serves up steaming plates of the Maharashtrian delicacy called misal. ‘Misal’, which translates to mixture, is a literal mixture of textures with a powerful, spicy gravy. Kadak Misal make their version with ‘matki’ or Turkish gram, ‘farsan’ a crunchy alternative akin to salted chips and a potato base. Their trademark ‘tikhat tarri’, a spicy gravy, makes this one of Pune’s best kept misal secrets.
