In this leisure-paced meander around Grant Road, I revisit the lanes and alleyways that carried me from childhood through young adulthood. Personal history meets collective history, revelatory anecdotes meet literary references, and memories merge with facts to create an experience that is equal parts learning, listening, and looking.
Please note this is a night walk which ends at an Irani cafe. Chai & bun-maska included.
Yooti Bhansali is a Jack of many trades: writer-editor; translator-subtitler; designer of curiosity-forward, socially conscious, and culturally relevant (non-competitive) quizzes; designer of interactive walking experiences in Mumbai, especially Grant Road, where she grew up. As an independent creative practitioner, her work is often situated at varied intersections between art, history, and culture, with a special interest in turning informal research into modes of interactive learning.
