Up a steep path, one of our shepherd-turned-guides, leads the way up, towards Hostan, one of many peaks that make up the Dhauladhar mountain range. As you climb, the landscape changes from pine to cedar-covered slopes. During the journey you’ll also meet a local who’s been farming in the hills for decades and hear his stories, including how a leopard made away with his pet dog. When you’re near the top, your view will be that of snow-capped peaks, valleys filled in with patchwork fields and clusters of homes clinging to the slopes.
