Based on South Cliff, Varkala, their team has spent years teaching beginners and seasoned riders alike to meet the sea with sensitivity, awareness, and joy.

At The Great Varkala Flea, Soul & Surf hosts specially curated beginner-friendly surf sessions designed for all levels. Guided by experienced instructors, each session introduces the fundamentals of ocean safety, paddling, balance, and wave reading, with an emphasis on ease, confidence, and connection to the water.

It’s not just a lesson; it’s a way to experience Varkala through its most defining element, the Arabian Sea itself.

These sessions are held at their dedicated surf school, not on festival grounds, and require separate experience tickets. Whether you’re stepping onto a board for the first time or returning to the waves, Soul & Surf makes the ocean feel both welcoming and alive.

GUIDELINES:

Surfing with Soul & Surf is designed to be a safe, supportive, and joyful introduction to the ocean. To help you make the most of your session, here are a few things to keep in mind:

* Comfort in water is essential. Participants should be able to swim 50 meters. If you have limited mobility or any physical concerns, please reach out to the Soul & Surf team before booking your slot.

* No prior experience is required. These are beginner-friendly sessions guided by trained instructors.

* Your safety comes first. Please follow all instructions and ocean-safety guidelines shared by the Soul & Surf team.

* Stay clear-headed. Alcohol or prohibited substances are not allowed before or during the session.

* Health & wellness considerations. If you have asthma, past injuries, allergies, or wear contact lenses/hearing aids, kindly inform the instructors in advance.

* Medical support. Should the need arise, the team may arrange medical assistance, with costs to be borne by the participant.

These guidelines ensure that every surfer, from first-timers to ocean regulars, experiences the water with confidence, clarity, and care.
