Glamour Glyphs: Create Art Deco Letterforms

Step into a world where typography meets craft in this hands-on workshop! Tanya George will introduce you to the dazzling variety of Art Deco letterforms, experiment with styling their shapes, and put your own spin on them. Together, we’ll explore bold, unusual, and hidden Deco letters from around the globe—and then you’ll learn how to design your very own. There are guidelines (we’ll show you how), but you’re totally free to twist them, break them, or improvise as you like. All materials will be provided.

By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with a set of Art Deco postcards—designed and crafted by you. This event is hosted by APRE Art House, a contemporary art gallery in Colaba.

Tanya George is a Mumbai-based designer and educator with a wide-ranging freelance practice that includes designing letterforms for brand identities as well as fonts across different Indian scripts. She also conducts type walks around Mumbai, along with typography workshops, and writes about type.
