Talab Khan lives in Harwa village in Barmer, Rajasthan. He belongs to the Mirasi community, known for their enchanting musical heritage and Manganiyar folk songs. His journey of learning music from his family and teachers of the mirasi traditions began at the age of 4 years. He sings traditional folk songs in Marwari and Sindhi, and is also known as one of the best harmonium and khartal players of our times.

Folk singer and dancer Suvati Kalbeliya from Khudiyala, Jodhpur, will be bringing alive the magic of Kalbeliya folk songs and dance, which were popularised by women like Gulabo Sapera, giving women from the community a new life and courage to step out of their homes and empower themselves.

The live performance will feature Patanath Kalbeliya from Jodhpur on the been and dafli, Kalyan Khan from Jaisalmer, on bhapang, khartal and morchhang, and Sameer Bhatt from Rajasthan on the dholak with his powerful rhythms.

The folk artists look forward to sharing a journey through the various ragas of the Manganiyar singing traditions, and the cultural practices and livelihoods of the Kalbeliya community through melodic folk songs and lively percussion.
