Not every gathering needs to be a formal workshop! Our Casual Fold & Connect Nights are all about relaxed creativity, sharing, and building community through Origami. Whether you’re seeking a new hobby, a meditative practice, or a creative outlet, the Folding Ninjas welcomes you! No prior experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm.

  • Absolute Beginners: We’ll help you get started with some easy folds!
  • Intermediate Folders: Opportunity to refine techniques and learn and seek help from fellow folders
  • Advanced Practitioners: Space to experiment, teach others, and push creative boundaries

Meet-Up Structure

Welcome and Warm-Up (30 minutes)

  • Check-In: Grab your name tag and settle in
  • Ice-Breaker Activity: A quick origami-related game or quick fold to get everyone engaged
  • Skill Level Check-In: Beginners are paired with experienced folders for personalized guidance

Free-Form Folding (60 minutes)

  • No Structured Instructions but beginners will be provided with guidance
  • Bring your own projects or start something new
  • Collaborative and spontaneous folding
  • Free exchange of techniques and ideas

Show and Share (30 minutes)

  • Members showcase their completed projects
  • Constructive feedback and celebration of individual achievements
  • Informal networking and social time

What to Bring

  • Beginners: Nothing! We provide all materials
  • Experienced Folders:
  • Your own specialty papers (optional)
  • Any unique tools or templates you’d like to share
  • Completed projects for show and tell
  • Snacks to share (optional)

Materials Provided

  • Variety of origami papers
  • Instructional guides
  • Basic tools (rulers, pencil, paper cutter, glue)

Who is Roligami?

Roli Agrawal, fondly known as roligami, is a multi-disciplinary designer and passionate craft enthusiast. Inspired by her love for Japanese culture, she has been exploring and teaching origami for over a decade. Roli’s workshops are a celebration of creativity, and her delightful creations are showcased on Instagram @roligami.
