Flamingo watching at Thane Creek from Bhandup Pumping Station
Thane Creek is truly one of the best kept secrets for observing birds. One can explore the creek in a boat ride where one can observe a large number of Lesser and Greater Flamingos along with various other birds such as Northern Shoveler, Grey Heron, Egrets, Plover, Sandpiper, Black headed Ibis, etc to name a few.

Meeting Point:
Jetty point near Bhandup Pumping Station( exact google location will be shared)
Itinerary:
Meet Wildnest team members near the jetty point followed by a brief introduction about flamingos as well as other birds.
Proceed for the boat ride.
Our naturalist will help in spotting flamingos as well as other shore birds found there with binoculars ( given to each participant)
Note: Customised tours can also be planned according to the availability or time preferences.
Important Details
* There are 12 seater boats ( 10 seats in shade)
* There is a basic public washroom near the ticket counter but no washroom facility near the jetty.
*Parking is available near the jetty point on the road.
* Finding an Ola/ uber or auto while returning from jetty is not feasible so either u have to walk back or keep your cab waiting till boat ride gets over.
Trip duration: Around 1.5 hours ( including 1 hour Boat ride )
Charges:
Kids below 3 yrs are free of charge. ( Can sit in the lap)
Note: We can take only limited number of infants / toddlers in a boat.
The boat rides are dependent on tide timings, so there can be slight change in the timings on the final day.
You will be informed a day in advance if there's any change.
