Known for its rich, vibrant flavours, the cuisine reflects the region's diverse communities, including Havyaka Brahmins, Vokkaligas, and Gowdas. Food habits emphasize seasonal and local produce, primarily vegetarian. Staples like coconut, rice, and jaggery are common. Malnad cuisine is a culinary journey that embodies the essence of home, tradition, and the warm hospitality of the Western Ghats.

Who am I?

I’m Dr Darshan Gowda, a dentist turned home chef with a deep passion for reviving age-old, traditional recipes. My culinary journey began in my childhood, watching and assisting my mom and grandmother in the kitchen, which fueled my love for cooking. I specialize in Malnad cuisine and coastal recipes, focusing on vegan and vegetarian dishes. Exploring hidden culinary gems and recreating traditional flavours is my true passion, and I aim to bring the essence of these home-cooked meals to life.
