How do we find our voice through a language that refuses to fade? 🖋️🌹
Although some call it a dormant language, Urdu continues to captivate everyone from seasoned connoisseurs to casual enthusiasts. It is more than just words; it is a "tehzeeb" a cadence of human emotion that weaves together Persian, Arabic, Turkish, and Sanskrit influences to see decades into the future.
Author and journalist Daneesh Majid will take us on a journey through the heart of the Ghazal. We’ll move beyond the basics to explore how these legendary verses bridge different eras and present-day borders. Daneesh will also share the personal side of the script how Urdu has shaped his life as a writer, a journalist for Siasat, and a chronicler of South Asian culture.
Whether you’re a lover of literature, a history buff, or just curious about the poetic soul of Hyderabad, this talk breaks down the elegance of Urdu into a story we can all celebrate over a drink.
All of this, over a complimentary beer or mocktail at Ironhill, Kukatpally! ✨
