We'll be hiking into the interiors of the Tughlagabad Fort.
Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq, the founder of the Tughlaq dynasty, on becoming the Sultan, went on to build the 3rd city of Delhi, Tughlagabad, within unassailable bastions and fortifications. The Tughlaqabad Fort, when seen from outside, looks very similar to the impregnable Rajput Forts. The city within was equally well engineered.
But the Fort which still lies unconquered by any enemy, was vanquished by the curse of a Sufi, which left the city deserted and caused the Sultan his life.
So join us as we head on to explore this grand ambitious settlement, which was so perfectly commissioned yet lies barren and ruined, ravaged by the forces of time and nature. We also explore the only part of the Fort which lies in perfect condition which is the tomb of the Sultan himself!
The walk ends with the most perfect sunset at one of Delhi's highest points overlooking the ruins of the Fort and the city of Delhi.
