Join us for a round-table conversation to launch the first publication from Sarmaya Books!

Chronicles of the Rupee celebrates Sarmaya's first publication, Odyssey of the Rupee: From India to the World, a landmark volume tracing the fascinating history of Indian currency and its global journeys.

The discussion will be moderated by Sarmaya founder Paul Abraham, who will be in conversation with the book's authors:

Dr Shailendra Bhandare - Senior Curator, Asian Coins and Paper Money, Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford

Dr Sanjay Garg - Historian and author; Series Editor, Monetary History of India series (Manohar/Routledge)

Prof Najaf Haider - Professor of Medieval and Early Modern History, Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University

Dr Bazil Shaikh - Former Secretary to the RBI Board; author of Mint Road Milestones: RBI at 75

Together, they will explore the legacy of the rupee and the many stories of trade, power, and culture embedded in its history.
