This unassuming road is a hotbed for all kinds of trade. If you’re looking for anything wholesale, this is your place to go. A hot favourite amongst locals, to buy anything from kitchenware (cast iron, brass etc), to lighting to spruce up your home or even stoneware, this market offers a treasure trove of useful items at throwaway prices. It isn’t a market for souvenirs, so don’t go in expecting to take home any memorabilia. Starting out on Ashoka road and ending in Devaraja market is a good way to spend 2-3 hours and get to know old Mysore. Devaraja market is jam packed with fresh fruit and vegetable sellers, flower vendors of all manner and is even interspersed with the odd jewellery or kitchenware vendor. You can walk away with a very affordable set of bangles and earrings to accessorise the next wedding you have to attend.
