Join us for Artcade Night, where Abhishek Lamba, the co-creator of SHASN: AZADI will gamify our current exhibit "Odyssey of the Rupee: From India to the World". Artcade Night will take you on an immersive and interactive journey where you will learn the story of the Rupee through games designed to help unravel the themes of the exhibit!

Bonus: win and take home some nifty prizes!

This game night at Sarmaya Arts Foundation is in tandem with our new exhibition Odyssey of the Rupee: From India to the World.

Marking 75 years of the Indian Rupee, Odyssey of the Rupee is Sarmaya’s most ambitious exhibition yet. Curated by Dr Shailendra Bhandare of the Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford, with Sarmaya Arts Foundation, the showcase spans centuries of currency, from ancient punch-marked coins to the first coin minted in Independent India. The exhibition also explores how the rupee travelled beyond borders, featuring beautiful and rare coins and notes from regions like Mozambique, Java, and Saudi Arabia.

Facilitator Abhishek Lamba is a game designer, writer, performer, and educator. They co-created SHASN:AZADI, a board game about freedom struggles, which went on to become the first board game ever to win a social impact award at Games For Change. They have written, designed, and acted in She Moves Tech, an immersive theater play about gender biases in AI, which has had shows in Delhi and Bangalore. They are also the creator of Artcade Night, a one of its kind event where they gamify art exhibits. Along with that, they are a co-founder of One Last Rule Club: a community of designers and artists in Bombay. They are proudly non-binary.

Meeting Point: Sarmaya Arts Foundation, 2nd floor, 276, Lawrence & Mayo Commercial Premises Society Ltd., Dr D.N. Road, Fort, Mumbai 400001.
