Join us for an enchanting evening by the Ganges, as Delhi-based Home Cook Anita Tikoo (@a_madteaparty) takes you on a journey through the unique culinary traditions of Kashmir. Set in the serene ambiance of Amrit Bhawan (www.amritbhawan.in), a boutique riverside retreat, this event will celebrate the breads, brews, and winter practices of her Kashmiri heritage.
Anita, a food-obsessed Landscape Architect, is known for her traditional Kashmiri recipes and her passion for sharing the stories behind them. This interactive session will feature hands-on activities, cultural insights, and an indulgent tasting experience highlighting the rich heritage of Kashmiri Pandits.
Highlights:
- Explore bread and tea pairings with traditional Kashmiri breads.
- Talk about the cultural and spiritual significance of Shivratri for Kashmiri Pandits, Shiva’s connection with Haridwar and its ancient traditions, and Kashmir's winter practices around food.
Menu:
- Traditional Kashmiri breads such as telwor, shrumal, and baqerkhani.
- A variety of teas, including Kehwa and Shir Chai.
- Cakes and snacks from the Amrit Bhawan Kitchen
Schedule and Inclusions: The high tea will be fully vegetarian, and without any onion or garlic.
4:00 PM to 4:30 PM: Arrivals and introductions along with an elaborate buffet of the snacks and tea in the garden by angithis.
4:30 PM to 5:30 PM: An informal talk and an interactive Q&A session with Anita Tikoo moderated by Varun Bajaj (Director, Amrit Bhawan)
