About Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest is a world-famous beer festival that originated in Munich, Germany, in 1810. It began as a celebration of the marriage between Crown Prince Ludwig (later King Ludwig I) and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. The festivities were so popular that they became an annual event, evolving into the massive cultural celebration it is today. The festival is known for its vast beer tents, traditional Bavarian music, folk dancing, parades, and delicious German food, such as pretzels, sausages, and roast chicken.
