Gumbad cafe
by Urbanaut A brilliant way to end a hectic evening of walking through Chandni Chowk - Gumbad is a cafe with exceptional views of the Jama Masjid. If you’re entertaining guests and taking them on an old Delhi walk, then finishing up the evening at Gumbad is perfect.
Wenger's
by Urbanaut Established in the year 1924, this iconic bakery has attained a legendary status amongst Delhi’s many bakeries with people coming from far and wide to get a taste of its delicious tarts and pastries. My grandfather mentions it ever too often(hinting at our next drive to Connaught Place) every time I’m home.
Fuji Japanese Restaurant
by Urbanaut Brilliant Japanese food - a little away from south delhi but worth the trek. If you are a large group, try to book into one of the dining rooms
DePaul’s
by Urbanaut Just beside the famous Janpath market is a small shack shop and you’d probably miss it because of the size of the crowd covering its narrow front entrance but then you’d miss the iconic start of Delhi’s coffee culture. Established in 1952, this compact coffee shop which initially just started with its still famous cold coffee has many variations to it now along with an array of cheese balls, momos and sandwiches which go well with a full stomach as well.
Cafe Lota
by Urbanaut If you are at the Crafts museum you have to stop here for at least a snack! Earthy regional food from across India- packed with flavour, colour and a true glimpse of the india gastronomical diversity! I love the ambience and feel- it’s casual and relaxed and a great place to debrief your museum visit :)
L'Opéra Bikaner House
by Urbanaut L’Opera packs quite a punch when it comes to French pastries, delicacies and decor. The Bikaner House bakehouse and tearoom is elegant yet understated as only the French can be. Whether you’re stopping by for freshly brewed coffee or to catch up with friends over freshly baked pastries and feuilletés, the tailored menu and dance of flavours will yet make a regular out of you.
Bikaner House
by Urbanaut Art and cultural space set in a beautiful 8 acre area. Bikaner House is a breath of fresh air and one of our favourite places to visit in the capital.
Pandara Road
by Urbanaut Pandara Road is Delhi’s indisputable food paradise, with a handful of historical eateries, restaurants and stalls to choose from. The road is always buzzing with people indulging their cravings, and you can expect to find a variety of cuisines from Mughalai to Indo-Chinese and Pan-Asian fare. To get started on the right foot, pick from the 1950s-era Gulati (for the best kebabs), the legendary Pindi and the much-loved HaveMore — they’re all Pandara Road classics, no matter who you ask.
SAZ- American Brasserie
by Urbanaut This charming bistro serves up classic American fare, from the quintessential burger to the more decadent Mac n’ Cheese. The execution of the dishes, according to patrons, is par excellence. The dance of flavours is something you’re not likely to miss, regardless of how classic or experimental your choice of dish is. You’ll find the bistro is just the right amount of warm and cosy to wind down with friends and enjoy delightful conversations over leisurely meals. The name itself is a hat tip to New Orleans’ Sazerac, and indeed you’ll find quite a few variations of the famed cocktail on the drinks menu.
Public Affair
by Urbanaut This quirky cocktail bar in Delhi’s buzzing Khan Market is a chip off the ol’ speak-easys that once dominated the culinary scene. You’ll find a lot of startlingly-presented cocktails topped off with fresh ingredients. The highlight of their international food menu is definitely the Japanese and Peruvian cold plates. You’ll also love the energised atmosphere as much as the next bar enthusiast– which is to say, a lot.
Amour Bistro
by Urbanaut Amour is a delightful little bistro serving European fare and a range of cocktails, from the ubiquitous mojito to the adventurous Mexican Kiss. The decor is to die for– we love the typical European flourishes and the overall cosy ambience. Patrons rave about the Micro Minute Amaretto Cake with Runny Irish Custard and the tofu steak.
Indian Accent
by Urbanaut Indian fine dining at its best. They offer a fusion of French and Indian cuisine and the food is a burst of flavour that will stay with you for a while. From the blue cheese naan to the besan ka laddoo tart- this is Indian food not tasted before. If you love food, are in Delhi and willing to dish out some money do check this award winning restaurant out.
Tres
by Urbanaut Tres is a fine-dining restaurant known for its simple seasonally curated menus that showcase star ingredients cooked in imaginative, alchemical ways. You might find a few familiars, and many more interesting concoctions, but they’re all united in their seamless balance of flavours and careful attention to detail. Their cocktail menu also looks incredible.
Ethiopian Cultural Centre
by Urbanaut Probably your only chance of getting good Ethiopian food in Delhi. Resembling the old school North Indian style restaurants - this space is uninspiring in terms of decor but the food here is to die for! Bureaucrats from around the area and food adventurers will be seen frequenting this restaurant in the Ethiopian embassy.
Ping's Cafe Orient
by Urbanaut Asian street food at its best! What I love about this place is it’s relaxed vibe. This is where I down beers post work, or meet friends for casual dinner dates. Their bright light decor and waiters a ‘door bell’ away make it a fun place to hang out at.
Dilli haat INA
by Urbanaut The Dilli Haat provides the ambience of a traditional Rural Haat or village market, where one sees a synthesis of crafts, food and cultural activity. It’s a unique bazaar, in the heart of the city that not only displays the richness of Indian culture but has been visualized as a showpiece of traditional Indian village art and life. Since its inauguration in the month of March 1994, Dilli Haat has been home to thousands of handicraft and handloom artisans. The complex is not only artistic, but also recreational in nature where one can unwind in the evening and relish a wide variety of cuisine without paying the exhorbitant rates. There are stalls dishing out sumptuous delicacies from different States and Union Territories; an Exhibition Hall; a Souvenir shop selling an assortment of small gift items; an open stage for cultural programmes and a playing area for children. If you pay attention to the architectural features of the complex you’ll see they have been especially designed in the traditional north Indian style, with brickwork jail (lattice) and stone roofs. The small thatched roof cottages and kiosks, without any concrete structures provide a village atmosphere. The shops are set up on platforms, which act as a link in the Bazar design. The courtyards between the shops are paved in stone and interspaced with grass to retain a visual softness.
Dirty Jungle
by Urbanaut Brought to you be the people behind Dirty Good (the oxy-moron is deliberate), Dirty Jungle is a much welcome cocktail bar and restaurant shrouded in delectable greenery. While the smoothies and bowls from their sister establishment give way to sourdough pizzas and craft cocktails, you’ll also have access to their live music and DJ nights which are usually a (dirty) good time.
In-Q Restaurant at The Manor Hotel
by Urbanaut A recent addition to the Delhi eating scene, In-Q serves some really good modern Indian cuisine, at par with (and in my opinion, better and more exciting than) Indian Accent!
Korean Cultural Centre
by Urbanaut Their cafe is open to non-members and offers delicious Korean food
Artisan Lab- Concept Store and Cafe
by Urbanaut A self-proclaimed ‘cabinet of curiosities’, Artisan Lab is a store, café and space for creative experimentation all rolled into one. It’s run by sisters Neimat and Noor, who each helm one aspect of the space. You’ll find that the two bright floors of the shop display thoughtfully curated showpieces, ceramics, clothing and home decor. The café is a great place to unwind after a bout of shopping– the Artisan Lab Lemonade and Burnt Cheesecake come highly recommended.
Raasta Delhi
by Urbanaut As the name would suggest - this venue hosts a bunch of live reggae acts - but also some metal, rock and electronica thrown in for good measure
Araabaik NFC
by Urbanaut Authentic middle-eastern food served in a little hole in the wall in New Friends Colony. One of those “if you know, you know” places. Great mixed grill plates, falafel, hummus, knafeh and more. Worth a visit for an affordable and authentic middle eastern meal.
Coast Cafe
by Urbanaut It’s my absolute favourite restaurant in town. It’s relaxed, the food is delicious and the vibe is chill. Their curries and appams should not be missed! Great place for evening drinks and dinner or even just a casual lunch.

by Urbanaut Tiny and popular Vietnamese spot that fills up every night of the week. Closed on Tuesdays (although google thinks otherwise)
Perch Wine & Coffee Bar
by Urbanaut Amazing cocktails and dinner and also a great spot to work out of in the day. Good for everything - a date, work drinks or even an evening with family
RED_VasantVihar
by Urbanaut A classy dining space in Vasant Vihar - done up only in shades of red - quite a feat considering it manages to look moody and decadent instead of garish. Signature cocktails and small bites feature.
Lair
by Urbanaut A #5 spot in the 30 best bars in India 2022 and multiple accolades for their beverage head - Lair sets the ‘bar’ high with the cocktail program and Asian cuisine. Great for drinks and conversations, and drinks that start conversations. We love that high-quality bars are popping around the country and Lair will be one to watch.
Leo’s Artisan Pizza
by Urbanaut Real Italian pizza! Order one per person - great meal at any time of day and now it’s open late. They also have a good selection of beer and wines - the host can help you choose based on preferences
PCO Bar
by Urbanaut Password, please? PCO – or Pass Code Only – is a dedicated cocktail bar and speak-easy that runs the gamut, from classic margaritas to their trademarked Mood Cocktail. The food menu is simple in design but rambunctious in flavour, so we dare say you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. The charcuterie and cold cuts boards pair amazingly well with whatever drink you choose.
Greenr Cafe
by Urbanaut A small clean cafe with a great vibe and good food! If you are on a healthy eating mode do check this out. What makes this place more fun is it often doubles up as a designer store- if you are lucky you’ll find a good pop up retailing clothes and jewellery.

by Urbanaut Korean Bakery and café - very cute, Serves delicious small and big plates. Amazing Korean sweet bakes, lots of changing pantry essentials and gourmet ingredients very often, including quail eggs etc.

by Urbanaut This increasingly popular coffee shop is the place to be for quick bites and steaming cuppa joes. The vibe is casual, the menu budget-friendly — and you can plug in your laptop to work or collaborate. Win win!
PLATS
by Urbanaut Comfort food that looks like it’s been designed by an artist– that’s PLATS’ offering in a nutshell. The Delhi favourite delivers set menus across the city, choosing world cuisines to theme their dishes around. In the past they’ve done Middle Eastern, Thai and Italian. In the future – who knows? The world is their oyster. Chefs Hanisha Singh and Jamshed Bhote have created a winner and we are fans.
Cafe Tesu - Essex Farms New Delhi
by Urbanaut Conveniently located for peeps within south delhi, serves hearty breakfasts, scrumptious lunches and perfect for an evening dinner with wine or beer! This is my comfort spot- not fancy but not too casual either- just right for conversations with friends or family
HMAN BBQ
by Urbanaut If your heart beats for BBQ meat, this is a must-go in Delhi. Small, intimate place with live grills and excellent menu. The pork ribs, the chops, burgers, tiramisu, sides, ebverything is amazing. Very personal and interactive experience.
Diva - The Italian Restaurant
by Urbanaut Diva is an award-winning Italian restaurant that brings authentic Italian food from Rome et al to India’s capital city. It’s fine dining at it’s, well, finest — only the freshest of ingredients are used seasonally in their dishes, and they’re flown in directly from Italy! At the helm of the kitchen is Indian celebrity chef and restaurateur Ritu Dalmia, who co-owns Diva with Gita Bhalla. It’s pretty obvious, then, that you can expect gastronomic innovation and a respectful homage to culture. The atmosphere is laidback and the decor unobtrusive, preferring to let the food steal the spotlight. While the first floor is dedicated to the fine dining wing, the ground floor, home to Café Diva, is a lot more relaxed.
Kaffa Cerrado - The Roastery
by Urbanaut Not so much a coffee shop as an experience centre, Kaffa Cerrado is the ‘it’ place in New Delhi for freshly roasted specialty coffee. The highlight of their Okhla space is the big glass wall that offers a ringside view of the whole roasting and grinding shebang. Their menu features simple vegetarian dishes that complement the coffee, which is the showstopper, and not the other way round. We’d recommend starting with their signature in-house blend before tasting your way through the rest of the list.
EVOO Eatery & Pizzeria
by Urbanaut Some of the best pizzas, pastas, gnocchi and risotto in the city. Run by very friendly owners and staff, a trip to EVOO is never disappointing.
Fig & Maple
by Urbanaut It’s a lovely restaurant with a great bar and great vibe. Their infused gins are to die for. The winter menu with Indian inspired spices in western cooking will leave you asking for more. I loved the kasundi fish, the eggplant flatbread, the creamy dumplings and the vanilla roselle. One of the first farm to fork places in Delhi that you have visit for a hearty meal!
Sidecar
by Urbanaut Artisanal cocktail bar - great for a drink with a friend or a large group too. Has a large terrace and a library corner downstairs for some quiet time
Shibuya Food & Bar
by Urbanaut This pan Asian restaurant is truly the best of both worlds — they have all your comfort food, but they also have twists on the regular for those who want to try something new. The menu features Japanese, Sushi and Thai fare that’s served up in perfect portion sizes. A date night choice or as a place to chat with friends, you won’t go wrong with either choice.
Mensho Tokyo
by Urbanaut Japanese food may be all the rage (is every new big restaurant Japanese now?) but Mensho Tokyo manages to make a mean and authentic bowl of ramen with great skill. This cute little space with an unassuming facade churns out delicious Ramen - their specialty - as well as other dishes like Karaage, rice bowls, gyoza etc. They also have a good selection of wine and sake to pair. Sit at their ramen bar for a communal dining experience.
Mahabelly
by Urbanaut Plumb in the middle of a bustling shopping hotspot is Mahabelly, a relaxed and rustic restaurant with a focus on Malayali cuisine. It’s not just the name (a play on Mahabali) that’s interesting, it’s also the menu — the length and breadth of Kerala is represented on it. You could stick with good old Appam, or diversify your palate with Pork Ularthiyathu and Chemmeen Manga. They also have other South Indian dishes that they serve with as much authenticity as their Malayali counterparts.
Adrift Kaya
by Urbanaut A Japanese izakaya with a twist, this restaurant serves up sushi and more with quality ingredients in a Timothy Oulton- designed space. Helmed by chef David Myers, it’s got a great bar menu to accompany dishes like tofu katsu curry and koji lamb rack with yakiniku sauce.
ROOH
by Urbanaut ROOH is a stunning fine dining restaurant and cocktail bar in the 150-year-old Ambawatta One haveli. You’re in for a gastronomic journey, given they play with familiar dishes to present refreshing twists.

The Grammar Room
by Urbanaut Nestled away in a corner next to Olive is a small spot called Grammar Room. While they do board games and coffee really well, they are also great with their cocktails. A great hideout from the hustle bustle of the city!
Altogether Experimental
by Urbanaut It’s in the name, really — A.T.E brings together baristas, culinary artists and creative patissiers to create gastronomical experiences that can’t just be called “food on a plate”. Their cafe is a great place to try something unexpected as they play with textures, tastes and ingredients to create truly unique nosh or tipple, whatever you’re there for. We spy on their menu Korean Fried Chicken Burgers, Jackfruit Tacos and Buddha Bowls. Don’t skip the coffee— they’re quite well-known for this.
Quick Brown Fox Coffee Roasters
by Urbanaut These are the real coffee roasters of the area and the real breakfast champions! Come here with a book, your laptop, an old friend or a date. The food is good, the ambience nicer and the coffee amazing!
Cafe Dori
by Urbanaut Large and minimalist, with an international feel, an international menu and good coffee - this is a relaxed breakfast spot. Shop while you eat - the nappa dori brand is a bespoke label selling finely crafted leather products and clothes. I love that they are pet friendly!
Serendipity
by Urbanaut Serendipity was ranked one of India’s top 50 best boutiques by Conde Nast Traveller, so that should be proof enough of their worth. If you still need a little convincing, allow us. The concept store is heavily wanderlust-inspired and packs curated textiles, furniture and international vintage gems in a gorgeous restored Haveli. Designer and founder Kuldeep Kaur helms the concept store, and brings to the table more than 20 years of experience.
Manami Japanese Restaurant
by Urbanaut Family run, authentic Japanese! It’s simple, understated, old school and if you choose to dine here you may find yourself as one of the only Indians in the restaurant. They offer a massive menu that makes it only that much more difficult to choose.
Bhawan
by Urbanaut From the team behind Rustom’s, Café Dori and Café Lota comes the latest addition to Delhi’s culinary scene — this time dedicated to street food, and how! Chefs Kainaz and Rahul have positioned Bhawan to be the city’s one-stop-shop for chaat and snacks from all over India, including kombdi vade, vada paav, bedmi pui and more. The extensive menu - a result of months of research - accurately reps each city or region’s bestseller. They’ve already racked up quite a following, and we hear there’s more to come!
Under The Neem
by Urbanaut Under the Neem is nestled in a whopping 300 acres of green land that also houses Karma Chalets (you know, if you want to extend that getaway). Load up on dishes made from organic and fresh ingredients; grab a book and sprawl about in the grass because what else is it there for?
